The following information was provided by the Building
Codes Assistance Project
Below is a state-specific
building energy code guide for Maine. We trust that this will be
helpful to you in planning, building, and inspecting new homes.
This building energy code guide provides an easy-to-use quick reference
to the main prescriptive provisions of the current residential energy
code in effect in Maine, but as we note in
the disclaimer, it is not a substitute for the full energy code
document.
These energy code guides have been useful to code officials, state code
agencies and homebuilders as part of energy code training.
The Building Codes Assistance Project is a joint project of the Alliance to Save Energy, the American Council
for an Energy Efficient Economy (ACEEE), and the Natural Resources
Defense Council (NRDC). As a non-profit advocacy group it provides
assistance to states and jurisdictions in their efforts to improve the
energy efficiency of their commercial and residential building stock
through energy codes.
